It is a metaphor for the journey of life itself.

Regarding the face that they're putting out to people, true. People change I guess. We can argue about why that's true but it's all speculation. It might be their hearts or it might be their wallets. Who knows. 

You can hear it in the music and the lyrics. Say what you want but these last few albums are but a shell of what the wicked shit is supposed to be. Theres a few good ones here and there, dont get it twisted.

That's just like...your opinion, man. For real, I disagree completely. Phantom X-tra Spooky Edition was exactly what the wicked shit is suppose to be to me. Missing Link was a fuckin mess but between Lost, Found, and The Outtakes there's more than a full albums worth of incredible wicked shit. The Carousel might be the best story track they've ever made. 

But again, that's all opinion. You're taking the fact that YOU don't like it as proof of them changing. Like I said before, all that it means is that you don't like it.

They are making dark shit. They've always bounced between dark and light. Go back and listen to older cards, LP's, and EP's. Musically, they're not doing anything uncommon to them.

Are they pushing for acceptance? If so, I haven't seen em say it anywhere. Even when they have their best, happiest clown faces on for the press, I haven't heard/seen them say they want Juggalos to be accepted by the world.
