I really liked it.

I have to agree. Those have become two of my top five. I think it was authentic, progressive and just clean

I felt it kinda ended on a soft note. Thats not including the bonus tracks.

I think they did a great job. The skits are cool i guess. I mean i was hella stoned taking a shit with the radio full blast so the echo and it all put it in a scary ass perspective as soon as i hit play.

The good tracks are really good.  The filler tracks are reaaaaaally bad.  And the skits are just plan weak.

There's something to that i cant really remember some of the tracks, like they get lost.

I like Dr.Weasel.

Still gos diwn as an album that touched me deep deep in my butthole

As much as I liked the record when it first dropped it's slowly moving out of rotation for me. Such is life I suppose. I still think it was a solid effort on Twiztid's part.

Yeah ive kinda just cut it down to the ones that stand out to me.

They got like modern sound or something ppl around me that dont listen to twiztid kept comparing to random stuff and told me to replay tracks and what not. Dont know what that  means but there

The only tracks I can't fuck with at all are Back To Hell and On and On. The rest of the album is fire, but I don't feel like they fit all that well together and I don't think it should have been called The Darkness when it wasn't that dark at all besides In Hell and Séance.

I feel like the skits and bonus tracks are a non issue. Just don't listen to em. It's still a full album even with them all taken out. It's like when they released the song Impending Doom and people were on the front page bitching about the recycled skit at the beginning, but if they would just fast forward a little bit they would find arguably one of the darkest and hard hitting twiztid tracks ever released(not that this album is either dark or very hard hitting).

It's a very solid album but it's nothing I will be coming back to over and over in the coming years. Fuckin' Madrox's verse on In Hell though.....Shit sends chills down my spine.

I like back to hell and on and on....

I just went back and slaped in hell. Yeah this album is the shit. Im gonna play it all the way thru. I didnt like seance I kinda didnt like a little bit fucked up in the head.

I like the rawness of take it away and down here. But i like that type of "sad" shit

Same here, LDLHAIBCSYWA is probably my favorite track by them. I love to see that side of them. The horror in the music doesn't always have to come from violence. Sometimes it comes from describing the feelings of being utterly alone or feeling like you are an alien in your own skin.

I think it's a great coping mechanism for kids like I was, who are trying to figure out who they are and where they fit in. You can't figure out if you are the one who is fucked up or it's just the world that is fucked up around you. Songs like these solidify the fact that even though you are alone in your struggle, there are other people out there who not only have gone through the same things but can put into words the feelings in a way that you can't seem to sometimes.

fuck your opinion.

my opinion is that i downloaded it and listened to it once, and dont really remember it now.

but, since i didnt pay for it, i shouldnt be listening to it anyway.  twiztid wouldnt want that.

Cmon dude that's a little unfair. They have very few party songs. I don't care for em either though for the most part. I do agree that they failed to live up to the name they gave they album. Just aint that dark.

@scruffy You aren't really a big twiztid mark anyways right? I can dig that. It seems to be a general consensus that this isn't a good album.

I just see it differently I guess. I loved both A New Nightmare and Get Twiztid. I still have high hopes for them just like I do ICP. I'll never give up on either. This shit is tatted on me for a reason.

i am, i am...  its just fading a lil.

all the music is half-right, these days.  the albums are half-albums.

im disappointed that they havent dropped that seminal masterpiece big bonanza super-classic lp yet.  they said the moment you all etc was it.

but theyve been saying that for kind of a while...

what is a tiny bit unsettling to me, is that this is exactly the same thing that happened with esham.  little less interested, as time passed, and eventually he was puttin out dreck that i couldnt get behind.

with esham, though, it started before he left psychopathic.

...actually, i didnt love abominationz like so many do...  shit, i hope they arent goin down the same path.

if twiztid came down with esham syndrome, that would be a tragedy.

Yeah i feel the same way. The things inside of me have always sent horror thru me more than anything. And thats why ppl gravitate to music like that. Man i was a sad kid dude if it wasnt for music that didnt let me forget i wasnt the only one i wouldnt be here. Thats why i dont care to say i like bands like afi and death cab and a bunch of other shit. Elliot smith anyone?

Im not at schooled intwiztid like i am with the wicked clowns but its good regardless scruffy!

And to the part songs... Some guys on the tech n9ne two chains thread said like how crazy can u go to fragile? I have no idea what to play when ppl wanna have fun. Like i can play ska and reggae but that only gos so far....itll be cool to play something i can relate to somehow.

A New Nightmare was 28 minutes of music.  10 of those was Wasted.

Get Twiztid was 20 minutes of music.  8 of those was Wasted 2.

I won't count 4 the Fam's party hits.

But Darkness isn't dark, that's for sure.  I don't hate Twiztid.  But I'm starting to not really care about their music anymore.  That ain't good.

Is that really ture about new nightmare? Hahaha oh man that song did linger but i didnt know it was that bad ahah

You should never be ashamed of the music you listen to as long as it speaks to you. I have shit in my library that I GUARANTEE 95% of you would scoff at. I'd agree with the assessment on party songs too. I'm really weird about shit, so if I go to a party(rarity these day) or a bar that's playing music I don't like, I can't make myself have a good time.

Twiztid just aint music for most parties though. The day I got locked up for a DUI I was at a throw down in this barn/garage and for the first hour or so we were bumping CC4 because it just came out. I was getting shit housed quick and having fun then the 'preppy' dudes and chicks show up and all that comes to a halt. Now we are listening to what I consider to be garbage ass R&B and Hip Hop. I put up with it for about two hours and then risked the drive because I just wasn't feeling it anymore. It's weird how it works for me.

I'm definitely more into Twiztid nowadays than ICP, but the last solid album they put out start to finish IMO was H&H. I don't skip any tracks. I too, like scruffy, didn't find Abominationz to be all that.

I thought the same the first month into The Darkness, but the only tracks I really play anymore are In Hell, Boogieman, Down Here, No Breaks, and Seance.

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm going to start waiting 6-12 months before giving my personal review on an album. It looks like a good place to start will be with Lost.

Oh me too dude i for sure got some ppl you guys would vomit to. (SAY HELLO TO MR.WINKIE!) but its all good.

I know twiztid aint party music. I love twiztid more for the lyrics than anything.

I tell my friends to play music at parties because i always bring the party down ahhah. No joke. No one wants to take shots to my shit. But when i get with the liked minded it gos down! But aslong as the partys pumping and my friends are having fun and the hoochies aint bored its alll good

I wouldn't classify any of the songs(not skits)on the darkness as bad. I think all the songs are good songs. I feel like if they would've taken away the skits and released it as an 11 track ep like mirror mirror more people would have enjoyed it. Remember twiztid were coming off what many say was there best album in years(abominations). That's a lot to live up to. also people have certain expectations for a twiztid album. Is it there best album? No but it is far from the worst imo. Solid production, mixing, and quality just a little rushed and forced. Remember they are still getting used to being there own entity and its a lot to juggle. Trust me twiztid will never take the esham route. Although I have a feeling esham will make a comeback. Venus flytrap was straight up garbitch
