Am I the only one that's a little irritated that this 19 track album is only an hour long, has like 5 skits, and 3 songs that have been released before? People crucify ICP over that shit but Twiztid gets a free pass? Honestly I'm not too upset about the songs they reused, but how are they gonna have an album that's so short and then add tons of skits to try and make up for it?
My personal opinion on the music itself, mono is getting better and Madrox is getting worse. Like that singing mixed with his "scary voice" is grating on my ears. I wish he would just rap normally to be honest, it has started sounding really stupid to me. He used to be able to pull it of but not so much anymore.
My favorite songs are a little fucked up, no breaks, and down here.
I actually disagree with you about the Mono/Madrox thing but it's all opinion...I feel like Madrox has become a much better MC over the years while Mono's voice and even his lyrics/flow have gone downhill...sometimes the creepy/raspy/deep voice works but when he overdoes it shit just gets annoying (ex: Place in the Woods, In Hell (compared to how Madrox rode that beat Mono came pretty weak tbh but that's just my 2 cents)...I will agree that Madrox's "scary voice" as you'd put it has gotten worse over the years which is why I prefer when he spits with his louder voice (such as on Down Here and whatnot)...still thought he sounded well on Seance with that voice but idk
the album has definitely grown on me since first listening to it but that still doesn't excuse overdoing it on the skits and previously released songs...hopefully The Moment You've Been Waiting For will actually be the moment I've been waiting for from them for a while now lol

I love Twiztid just as much as any Juggalo, but I'm really disappointed with The Darkness. In my opinion the last 3 tracks on the album that we'd already heard on other releases are better than any of the brand new tracks. A couple of new tracks were okay, Boogieman, Down Here but nothing really stood out to me as great.
it isn't really the same juggalo style they've done in the past - still the quality is perfect and the raps are on point.
it doesn't have a strong feel to it and it isn't their darkest.. a lot of the problems are the instrumentals they chose, even though the quality of them is professional.
they needed their first full album released on their label to be near perfection to succeed with it.

A lot of shit I've heard (not this album, I have to get it from the post office Monday morning) seems to vague to actually go, "that must be an ICP diss". But what about 3:24? Now, for ANYBODY to deny that it sounds like it could be about Twiztid is just willful ignorance. Whether it truly is or not does not matter is unknown, but it truly does sound like a Twiztid diss. I couldn't think of any other artist it'd be about unless it's just a huge diss to multiple people.
I'd have to go with a no on 3:24 being about Twiztid. Otherwise, why would they include this line: "I got love for everybody that was ever on the hatchet and it's gonna stay the same until we buried in a casket"

I don't think that homeless drug addict wouldn't run off with my money if I let him hold it, other wise he wouldn't have said, "I promise I won't run off with your money if you let me hold it, I just want to feel what it's like to have money".
Either way, I thought The Darkness was a dope album.
Down Here definitely does have that one part that sounds like an ICP diss. Definitely talking about something to do with Psychopathic. Best song on the whole album too. Hands down. Anybody that disagrees gets one of thoseand one of these

Why make a concept album that doesn't follow the concept? They should have saved this idea and title for when they actually had built up songs that are dark and have depth. I am not impressed but my ears are not offended. Not a bad album but It does fall short of the title. Also, monoxide is talking about icp. It's lame and so is lucky for trying to prevent anyone from talking about it. Why can't a mother fucker discuss that aspect of the album? Rhetorical question, bitch, we can. So, put a blind fold on and listen to the darkness when other mother fuckers wanna talk about what you refuse to see. There is beef and its stale. Honestly I get pretty sick of those dudes doing 2 faced shit and then say their fans that talk about it "just want drama". Fuck that bullshit I ain't buying it ... If they want ninjas to stay out of it than leave it out of what we are buying

Thank you Swaggie.
I personally don't care if they beef. Sucks if they do, but who cares as long as both are up and doing their own thing.
Really, though, there still is a chance that we be wrong and they aren't beefing.
And, I do think it's possible that Monoxide is talking about fans that turned his back on him, though I doubt it.

Yeah I agree with you I thought the instrumentals were mostly the main reason I didn't like the album even though they sounded professional. The raps were on point but most of the hooks were a bit shit in my opinion.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one feelin it. Down Here is definitely the one that has the highest chance of getting thrown into a playlist. Even though that's clearly them bitching about Psychopathic (ICP specifically is a bit of a stretch. I heard Monoxide say somewhere, which is the most reliable of sources, that people forget that there's lawyers, warehouse managers, and interns behind the scenes too) it didn't sound like the "is he/isn't he" highschool shit. It was two dudes who were upset over a past experience and they needed to get it off their chest. Even though I disagree with what they're saying in it, they said it very maturely, which was the ONLY time I felt like the album was a better, stronger Twiztid. Other than that it was the same old shit from them. Throw in a couple songs of them talking about being wicked, a few "hey, Madrox can sing so lets just....do that", and the ever annoying "even though we're killers, we still have a heart that can feel pain" shit. Sprinkle in some "skits" that clearly took five minutes and a speakerphone to accomplish and that's The Darkness. Idk, maybe I need to wear a stupid fucking blindfold or some other "Extra Rare & For Tha Fam Exclusive Stardust Jockstrap for $314.99 " gimmicky shit to really dig it.

It stands for Fuck The System lol saw a newer Twiztid interview where Mono says it. But anyway this album is the Shit. I personally think it's one of their best CD's.

This album makes me wonder what is in store for the moment we've all been waiting for.. I hear songs that stand out on this album that are different from anything they've released.. To me anyway.. To me DOWN HERE sounds like a thank you and not a diss to the mugs that have stood by this underground movements side!! MNE, MNE, MNE!! I love the distinction that mono makes between us wearing face paint and them wearing makeup.. But about down here, Here's some speculation: what if Twiztid reveals they're on psychopathic, since mono said contacts in paint on my face.. Axes ready, I ain't waiting for them haters to hate.. That's probably not likely, but oh well.. I'm glad they keep doing their own style.. Take it away is the bomb.. The exorcism is scary shit too.. They say the darkness is the hardest to break somebody away from.. I got a digital copy.. Glad I got it!! Much Luv Twiztid!!
