I figured I may as well start the topic now.
Not gonna be out until next month but what are your thoughts?

I'm willing to guess that the Blaze EP is outtakes from The Casket Factory and maybe a couple new tracks.
I'm also willing to guess that Lex's EP will have the Bomb On 'Em and Ninjas tracks already released on it and will be a "Preview" of his LP dropping later this year. (Similar to what Psychopathic did with the Dayton Family EP & LP)

At first, I thought maybe Twiztid wanted Lex to release the EP to test the waters so to speak... But I think no matter the reaction, Lex's LP WILL be released.

I've heard the Blaze EP. It's just left over tracks from Casket Factory. It's good.

As for Hex, I have his EP, but much like his two singles I've haven't taking the time to listen to it just yet.

I admit didn't bother looking up a track listing for the EP and I'm too lazy to do it now, but I was curious if they are the same songs from the store only version of Casket Factory or are they completely different?

i heard the lex "raw" track with mono........im officially out when it comes to him, nothing i have heard is in any way exciting, the choruses are boring and repetitive, his flows are sloppy and uninteresting, his lyrical content is contrived and played out, and he sounds like talib kweli, minus the lyrical ability

Just got Lex's EP..... I didn't think it was very good. Here are my main issues....

-Every chorus ranges from not good to terrible.

-Its not uplifting like juggalo shit should be. When icp, twiztid etc rap about gruesome shit there is still a positive or empowering angle to it. His raps are just negative as hell and never once does his negativity have a point or provoke thought.

-DID NOT EVEN TRY TO CONNECT HIS "HEX MASTER" CONCEPT. I mean I thought casket factory wasn't that fleshed out with its concept, I take that shit back.

-Worst of all this is the first new MNE artist and it was an epic fail.

I do like his flows most of the time, his raps are just generic and aren't even fun. All his features have been decent, which is why I got this, but I could barely stand 6 songs of just him. I feel like he could do well in a super group if MNE were to do that.

Overall... crappy album that I will keep as a relic of Twiztid's first attempt at new blood. For sure will not buy anymore of his stuff unless he starts killin' it.

Ya Lex does seem kinda corny, but at least dude was mad humble in the interview he did with Scottie D.

Also, his feature on Casket Factory has grown on me.

That line he drops in it- "Real G's don't find skinny jeans in-ti-mi-datin" -was well spat.

I like the nasally quality to his voice tone as well.

The kid has potential.

Needs more clever lines though, fo sho.

I was digging the first track they released of him, now I just don't feel him. He gets annoying after a while. Pretty bad signing IMO. Like stated, maybe in a supergroup he'll do well. I'd like to hear a twiztid/blaze/roc supergroup. Maybe we can finally get SH? :)

Seriously tho why call him Lex The Hex Master if he never raps about Hex's????? He could've just kept the name Lex Masters then he wouldn't have had all the psychopathic fans boycotting him from the jump for "ripping off hoodoo" It'd be like if ICP came out in clown make up and never made mention of being killer clowns... If Twiztid never talked about getting Twiztid and Killing.. If Blaze Ya Dead Homie never mentioned the fact he's dead.

Other than that, he's just not good. I wouldn't call him a shitty rapper... But Monoxide promised we would be AMAZED at the artists they brought... Not good... Not Bad... He will fit right in at MNE

I didn't realize the Rolling Stones got on stage and rolled around like stones. Or korn makes songs about being turned into popcorn. It's a name never said it was a gimmick. Only a few musicians compared to the rest use a gimmick. It limits what you can do. Like wrestling when undertaker started riding motorcycles and dressing like a biker. Bitch you were just a dead man, ruined the gimmick. It has limits especially in music. That's why icp almost dropped the clown thing after the sixth. They got tired of having to fit that mold.

Then why change his name? and we're not talking about rock, we're talking about gimmick ran horrorcore music.

yes a lot of horror rappers have gimmicks but only a handful stick to the gimmicks. Even twiztid raps about contacts and makeup which breaks their gimmick stating "this is fake". I didn't realize every verse/song icp are a part of is a clown song. I must have missed all the carnival references in the hundreds of songs that lack them. I get what your saying but remember these 5 tracks did not get saved for his album. you cant judge an artist by a debut ep. After blaze's Abbiss dumped him off the label. Then we got 1 less g which was a classic.

stones thing is pretty funny but your argument is invalid and off topic. We are talking about juggalo rappers, not music in its entirety.

Fact is, all of the best and most successful juggalo rappers have fleshed out concepts with their character.

ICP has over 500 songs, twiztid over 250 so having a concept clearly does not limit you. Clearly, Lex is limited because his album was generic as hell and some hexes would have been welcomed.

Also, don't know where you are getting this "icp almost dropped the clown thing" that is not even remotely true, just your own perception. They knew when they recorded the calm that they were working on a new deck. They say it in the damn intro. "After the tempest who will be left? who will survive long enough to join us for the new dawn? ICP is rollin over..." Translation: were doing a second deck, get with it or get gone.

Fact is, when you are called the hex master and are up against the hatchet warrior, the scarecrow, the dead man, the jinx and others, you better have a damn point to being the hex master.

^ What he said.

Also, I don't even get a "Horrorcore" vibe from him.. Which would be totally fine if he wouldn't have labeled himself as such.. I definitely think he would have been welcomed more without facepaint and as a regular rapper than a horrorcore hex master.
