If you want to. It's your choice. I suggest take the ASVAB, see if you can even enlist (it's not always a gimme) and then choose a good job skill that you can use in the civilian field after you get done with your enlistment.

Damn that's a long time from now! Do the ASVAB, do the duck walk, and pass the piss test.. You'll do fine.

i feel like your talking about joining for all the wrong reasons, pent up anger at the world and what not, the world is not call of duty. if when you shoot someone numbers wont pup up and your score doesn't go up, you just took another persons life, you took a husband from his wife, a brother from his siblings, and a sun from his mother, it is nothing to glorify and be happy about.

you need to seriously sit down and think about why you are doing this... if the only reasons you are joining is because your angry and you feel like some kind of violence will subdue that anger or you just want to kill... i think you should talk to a Therapist and not a recruiter, too many stable mentally sound people go into combat and come home with horrible mental issues.

now take one with existing issues and put them though the same horrible experiences... you may leave and never come back hun, and i'm not talking about being shot either... IMO the branch you choose is not all that important when compared with the reasons you are doing it. 

so please sit down and be real with yourself and figure out if this really is the option for you...

now those sound like good reasons, you scared me with the crazy talk though the rest of it, i'm not telling you not too. i just want you to be 100% on why you are doing this, it is not a decision to take lightly, i don't know you but i care i'd hate to see you go off and join up just to have it completely destroy you mentally. but the decision is purely yours <3 

Why not try get a scholarship  todo something less killy?

I gather that being that your family is mostly junkies and nolifers, perhaps college would be a better option?

oh and do you know know his family will be ok? what happens when the wife has a mental breakdown because she is actually pregnant with their fourth child and decides that life is too hard so she kills the kids with one of his pistols he keeps locked up to keep his family safe.

Then she goes out into the back yard, puts down that cute labrador puppy he bought little jenny for her 6th birthday this year, just before he left for his latest tour.

Finally she goes to the kitchen and hangs herself from the ceiling. noone finds the bodies for days and it smells terrible. in the following months, both his and her parents both pass from 'a broken heart' as it were, being of advanced age and unable to handle the gruesome death of their children and grandchildren(they were the ones who found the bodies, they were concerned becasue they hadnt heard from thier daughter (in law) in some time), His brother goes back into a mental asylum because he starting shooting up heroin again and drove him to insanity after 15 years sober.

I could go on for days, but you get the idea, dont think its as simple as shoot a guy in the head and move along to the next corpse. you will see the faces of those you kill everytime you close your eyes, do yu truly honestly believe you can handle that?

I'm all for people going into service. But don't do it because you want to kill someone or have some misguided notion that you have a hardened little shell because you have been living in foster care for 15 minutes. I can gaurentee you your life isnt THAT bad (and no my life never was that bad so leave off idiots who will come spouting shit about me having lived a good life), perk up and smoke some weed, life is good.
