HUGE Press Release for Twiztid’s “Haunted High-Ons” New York Comic Con appearance

Earlier this afternoon, a HUGE press release hit our inbox about Twiztid, their upcoming comic book release: “Haunted High-Ons”, and their debut appearance at New York Comic Con!  Along with those topics, the email included a short interview with both Twiztid and Dirk Manning, covered Astronomicon, speaks on their newest music video for “Dead and Gone”, and lists the dates and featured performances from the Mostasteless Tour!  If you feel like you’re behind on Twiztid news, this press release will definitely catch you up!

Check out the full press blast below:

It’s no secret that 12x Billboard charting rap group TWIZTID cross over heavily into horror, animation, comic, weed and gaming culture – the duo have released action figures, comic books, cosplay videos, sodas and even launched their own festivals and upcoming pop culture convention – Astronomicon – happening next year (read more below).

Now, TWIZTID is adding another massive event to their calendar – New York ComicCon! TWIZTID will host a signing of their brand new comic book, entitled Twiztid: Haunted High-Ons, written by the demented duo themselves and famed comic writer Dirk Manning, and featuring illustration by renowned Italian artists Marianna Pescosta and Alessandro de Fornasari. The comic book is published by Source Point Press. In Twiztid: Haunted High-Ons, our duo have carved out a comfortable side-gig for themselves as fake ghost hunters… but what happens when a routine house call yields not only a ghost, but a killer demon to boot? Hijinks and horror, of course!

The New York ComicCon (@ New York’s Javits Center) signing will take place on Saturday, October 7th from 1-4pm at the Source Point Booth. TWIZTID, in addition to Manning, Pescosta and de Fornasari, will be signing copies. In addition, you can only get the special edition NYCC Cover Variant at the signings, which is limited to 200 copies. Additional variants will include Comics & More (available at upcoming signing – details coming soon), TwiztidShop.com, and Astronomicon exclusives. For more information on the comic and signing, visit www.TwiztidShop.com.

TWIZTID says: “We have talked about doing a REAL comic book for over a decade and it’s finally about to happen. If that’s not enough to put a smile on the ol’ face, then the fact our comic book will kick off at the New York ComicCon via the Source Point Booth with us, writer Dirk Manning and the creative team, is enough to leave us all laughing like lunatics!”

Writer Dirk Manning adds: “As a band, TWIZTID has made a career of masterfully blending horror and comedy into their music the same way I’ve made a career of blending horror and comedy into my comic series’ such as Nightmare World, Tales Of Mr. Rhee, and Love Stories (To Die For) – which makes collaborating with them in writing this comic a perfect match for fans of their music as well as readers looking for a new comic series that’s fresh, funny, and at times scary. Everybody wins!”

Source Point Press Founder and Art Director Joshua Werner praises the art in this publication: “It’s hard to find an incredible team as skilled and professional as Marianna Pescosta and Alessandro De Fornasari. The colors are gorgeous, setting every haunting scene, and Mari’s phenomenal art captured every moment of humor perfectly through the characters’ body language and expressions. This book is a blast, we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it.”

In conjunction with of all of this animated goodness, TWIZTID have just revealed their brand new animated music video for “Dead And Gone”, cut from their most recent full-length album, The Continuous Evilution of Life’s ?’s (#28, Billboard 200). The video was animated by Jaime Rodriguez and is TWIZTID‘s second animated video – considered a follow up to their 2009 video for “Buckets Of Blood”. As promised, it’s finally here and viewable now, exclusively via Yahoo Music: https://www.yahoo.com/music/video-premiere-twiztid-debuts-new-animated-video-dead-gone-165626813.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=ma
