Horrorcore Magazine Reviews Blahzay Roze’s “Broken”

Horrorcore Magazine have published a review for the debut EP by Psychopathic Records newest artist Blahzay Roze.

Broken was released during the 17th annual Gathering of the Juggalos and is now avialable on Hatchet Gear. Blahzay Roze will be touring in support of this release on ICP’s “Riddle Box” tour.

Here is there review:

There’s a lot of controversy with the new Psychopathic artist “Blahzay Roze”, regardless of how she found herself in her position on Psychopathic I can undoubtedly say It’s about damn time! I’ve been waiting for a female to sign to Psychopathic for 20 years now (Jesus Christ im getting old). Blahzay Roze, although not my favorite name of all time, she undoubtedly does introduce that dark style that use to be found in Psychopathic back in the day and though some songs are extremely dark I’m loving the fresh new talent she’s expressing.Life is real sometimes and some either never experience it or refuse to understand it thoughts of Suicide, Depression and Bullying is real and experienced by a lot of us. This girl speaks the FLAT OUT TRUTH on hard times and really opened up on this EP and shared some deep things people normally keep locked away and for that I give kudos to this girl for her courage and raw talent. She truly fits into the Psychopathic name in my opinion and brings back that old school dark style some of us are still looking for from Psychopathic.

Blahzay does a great combination of rap and singing rock style vocals. It’s awesome to see that fusion come together with Psychopathic’s first female artist and I hope to hear a project in the future of some more rock elements from her.

This Release is Something different from psychopathic that we haven’t seen for a while since probably the original Dark Lotus and Mirror Mirror releases and if that isn’t your cup of tea I’m sure as J said in his Hatchet Herald in regards to Blahzay Roze. As she vents her hurt and pain we will start to see more upbeat releases.

Now down to the nitty gritty:

1.Intro
It’s a mellow, sad piano start that gets rudely BROKEN. Great start for what’s to come!

2.Broken
This one you probably heard first when they first introduced Blahzay Roze and released the video. Some cry out emo…emo…emo BUT what I hear is a battle with a dark twisted life and actually surviving It. As I said before you HAVE to give this girl credit she throws it out there for all to hear and you have to give her props for that! Lyrics are on point and her voice is a unique mixture you secretly love! Plus her chorus on this and that scream is like Damn!

3.White Lights
This track is a dark story with some intense personal lyrics. If you love some Dark Horrorcore type music this is a good one to add to the collection as it’s about as dark and real as they come.

4.Bulimic Becky
Another track of personal battles with bulling and I believe we get some Young Wicked on the chorus on this one. Either way again this is a great Horrorcore themed track and fun to listen to. Blahzay gives us a unique style on this one I like a lot!

5.Raped at 15
I was wrong on my review of White Lights, staying it’s as dark and real as they come….this one takes the cake for dark and personal. Blahzay’s got a fast solid flow on this one but it’s almost uncomfortable to listen to but I can tell this girl has some deep roots in some Horrorcore Music and isn’t afraid to say NOTHING….

6.Tommy
This one’s got some funny and Gory details. The flow on this one reminds me a lot of the Classic Insane Clown Posse’s “Under the Moon”. But as far as Horrorcore tracks go this one has it all Jealously, Love, Darkness, Murder and more ….

7.The Toolbox
This isn’t really a song but is a unique eerie spoken words story and works great as a outro.

So, Don’t listen to whatever the haters and crybabies are whining about if you have heard the “Broken EP” and don’t like it ….. Listen to it again and open you Damn mind, take in the realness of it all. The Pure Raw Energy and Courage it took to make this EP is enough to like it. But seriously get yourself this little piece of Psychopathic History Today!

What? That sentence is a riddle wrapped in a headache.

There is a lot of very confusing writing in this article.

Hey Horrorcore Magazine, I’ll proofread your magazine for like $10 an issue.

I drive to and from Austin quite a bit for school and that’s usually when i’ll put on an album from beginning to end and I can honestly say that I was pretty impressed with her album. I feel that whatever improvements are needed when it comes to delivery or flow will slowly be fixed with time. People are hating on her way too quickly and it may be because of the controversy of how she ended up on the label. Regardless, it’s a solid album and i’m pretty excited to hear what she can do with a full length album.

I am sure this album is better then The Missing Link albums but I need to listen to her on YouTube first. I feel like a real sexist for not buying her album because she is a woman…I just did not like that one song at all.

I keep listening to this EP in hopes that I will change my mind. It’s still sitting at the same spot it was in July. And @MaskedNinja, to me TMML albums were leaps and bounds better in comparison, (I actually really dug Lost but not Found), and yes Ik the difference between a seasoned veterans album and a rookie’s album, but still. I’m still trying to give her and this EP a chance.
