Whaddup fam!

Holy fucking shit! Was the summer of 2016 off the chain or what? We had more than 10,000 ninjas come from all corners of the globe to unite at Gathering 17 and it was unquestionably one of the freshest, most karma-filled Juggalo family unions in our history. Plus, we got to school the world with some devastating new merchandise including Jumpsteady and Louis Simpson’s Psychopathic-themed deckbuilding card game “Into the Echo Side,” which is so phat and fun to play that even NON-JUGGALOS are getting addicted to the game and calling it one of the best deckbuilding card games in years. Violent J released his epic length audiobook edition of Behind The Paint—all completed updated and expanded for 2016—on a fresh looking USB drive and packaged in an old school action figure-style packaging. And the fuse has been lit on next year’s highly anticipated Juggalo March on Washington, DC, which will go down on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the National Mall. We’re already getting asked about press inquiries from media stations all over the world who know this march — which is the Juggalo Family’s outcry against the ongoing discrimination many of us face due to the FBI stupidly labeling Juggalos a “gang” in 2011 – will be a truly historic event in not only pop culture but also American history. Now is the time for us to raise our fists and demand justice! IT’S GOING DOWN, BABY!

So we’re ending Summer 2016 on a high note so loud it could shatter the windows in the Lotus Pod. ICP is currently getting ready to embark on round 2 of the almighty Riddle Box tour, hitting all of the major cities that haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience the flavor of seeing the 3rd Joker’s Card performed LIVE in its entirety (visit www.psychopathicrecords.com/tour-dates for dates and tickets). Plus, Jumpsteady and his merry squad of nerdies are working on the Dark Carnival Games convention, the expansion pack of Into the Echo Side, and creating what is certain to become the wickedest party game of all time … JUGGALOS AGAINST HUMANITY!

So this has been a year of triumph and progress for Psychopathic Records and we thank each one of you for your support. For real! We fucking LOVE you ‘Los and ‘Lettes and don’t you forget it.

As Psychopathic looks to the future, we are always making moves to ensure we can continue to provide quality entertainment for the Juggalo family, while at the same time, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the music industry. It’s so funny how quickly the music world changes—just 10 years ago if you would’ve told us that vinyl would make a tidal wave-sized comeback and that streaming and YouTube would be the way most people receive their music, we’d say you were fuckin’ nuts. In fact, the ENTIRE MUSIC INDUSTRY DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING! Change can be challenging…but we sure as FUCK ain’t scared of it!

So we’re making some organizational adjustments here at the Hatchet to ensure that we can maintain our momentum and grow by offering even MORE dope ass events like Juggalo Day and the Dark Carnival Games Convention and devastating entertainment like Into the Echo Side. And the best way for us to do this is to finally act on what we’ve been talking about at Gathering ICP seminars for years, and that is no longer function as an artist management company.

For over 20 years, Psychopathic has nurtured the careers of rappers who went on to become true underground rap icons in their own right, including Myzery, Boondox, Blaze Ya Dead Home, and probably the best example, our homies Twiztid, who left Psychopathic to form their own successful imprint Majik Ninja Entertainment—and God bless them for all the success they’re achieving on their own. What we’ve discovered by working with so many talented artists over the years is that the best way to help them grow is to assist them in developing their stage persona—be it Boondox’ psychotic scarecrow or Big Hoodoo’s voodoo magician—show them everything that ICP has learned throughout the years and then, once that artist is confident and strong enough to make their own choices, let them spread their wings and fly onward towards their own artistic path. See, we basically act like a mentor to these artists, Juggalos. Now that CDs are no longer relevant to 95 percent of the music buying public and all music is basically free on the internet, after we’ve shown the artist how to post their own music on iTunes, shoot their own videos, book their own tours, there’s nothing much left for us to do. So watching them go start their own labels and do their own thing is fucking awesome and makes us proud as shit! A lot of our Psychopathic Family artists have already been doing this all along. ABK’s schooling it with his own Native World, Inc. roster. Big Hoodoo is a self contained one-man-show, booking all of his own shows, producing and financing all his own albums, and just doing it HIS way. AND THAT’S WHAT ARTISTS SHOULD DO: Control their own destinies.

But wait! Don’t you even THINK that the Hatchet is done discovering and developing dope new artists cuz we AIN’T! NOT BY A FUCKIN LONG WAY! As we speak, our new protégé Blahzay Roze is writing scary ass rhymes for her first full length album and Psychopathic plans on introducing more new acts to the Juggalo world sooner than you think! Because the fact is…WE LOVE THE ARTISTIC SATISFACTION OF DISCOVERING A TALENTED PERFORMER AND HELPING THEM BLOSSOM!

So by altering Psychopathic Records’ focus slightly, and giving our artists the freedom to manage their own careers, it frees up ICP and the rest of the Psychopathic Records staff to expand our entertainment empire by focusing more energy on new products, events, tours, and more! While we’re slightly restructuring the way we do business at Psychopathic in order to keep up with the modern state of the music biz, rest assured you will barely notice anything different – except lots of fresh new projects (Example: J-Webb is currently designing vinyl reissues on many of ICP’s ‘90s catalog, including some dope ass picture discs that you will not fucking believe!), flavor, and tours.

If the first wave of the Riddle Box Tour, our Canadian tour, and the triumph of Gathering 17 proved anything it’s that the Hatchet is swinging harder than ever and has never been more razor sharp. So get ready to have your wigs blown back, ‘Los and ‘Lettes…because you ain’t seen NOTHIN’ yet!

Picture discs sound like ass. Fuck the gimmicks I’d rather have the OG material pressed on black virgin. I’d hope these would be remastered for analog, but we all know they are going to be digitally sourced. Too little, too late.
