New Member of Kottonmouth Kings?

Somehow this bit of news has flown under the radar for a couple weeks, but Kottonmouth Kings have announced a new member for touring and maybe more

The new touring members name is Mikey Bonez . Brad X recently conducted an interview with him. It seems that they will be heading into the studio soon.

You can read the full interview below.

Hailing from the east coast (Trenton, New Jersey) Mikey Bonez is the latest addition to the Kottonmouth Kings Live show. His full throttle all out playing style has added an unexpected surprise to the KMK live show. Bonez, a long time Kings fan and music lover showed up to a music festival in Michigan to audition at the Hotel KMK was staying at. He had every song down, so The Kings decided to let Bonez rock the show. He electrified the stage and has become a integral part of the KMK live show. Bonez brings a live dimension that allows For spontaneous live jams and sing-alongs. The next step is getting into the studio and making music together! Bonez plays every instrument and his energy on stage is second to none!!Brad X sat down with Bonez on the Tour Bus in the Midwest and asked Bonez some insightful questions to introduce the world to this talented virtuoso.

X: How has your experience been with KMK?

MB: It’s been surreal! If someone told me a year ago that I would be playing with KMK, I never would have believed it. It’s a dream come true!!

X: How would you describe the energy on stage with KMK?

MB: Unstoppable! It’s like trying to walk through a hurricane. It’s insane!

X: How long have you listened to KMK?

MB: I started listening to KMK in ‘98 when “Royal Highness” dropped. I was 11 and my parents took me to the mall… they freaked on the blatant weed. “Spies” the punk rock song sealed the deal!

X: How important is the rip hop element to KMK?

MB: it gives KMK a live dimension and energy that no other group has. It is revolutionary!

X: What are your favorite styles to play?

MB: It’s a tough one… I love punk rock for the intense energy. I love All styles… Classic, Acoustic.. I love all styles!

X: Where do you see KMK in the history of underground music?

MB: At the very top! KMK has persevered through adversity, the ability for KMK to play huge festivals or small clubs, theatres and rock the House in every situation.

X: How is it on the Bus with KMK?

MB: So much fun, it’s surreal! It’s A FAMILY vibe. It’s where I am supposed be. The hardest part is figuring out where and how to take a dump. We get to watch football and talk shit and smoke the best weed everywhere!

X: Where would you like to see the future of KMK go?

MB: Upwards! That crazy rip hop punk rock group that destroys every stage it steps on.

X: What does playing with the Kings mean to you?

MB: It means the world. It means my dream came true. I’ve paid dues for years as a musician, so I appreciate and give thanks for every day and show.

X: Having the experience to tour with Marlon Asher?

MB: I have a smile on my face. To have this blessed opportunity feels like history is being made!

X: How long have you known Lou Dog?

MB: We caught up in June. I mentioned I played guitar. I sent over video clips playing songs, X saw it ,shared it with the guys. Next thing I knew we were in a Hotel, I was playing the songs and the guys were standing over me and firing the lyrics. It has been unreal! I was in a dark place and the universe works in mysterious ways, I wake up everyday and get to play my guitar and rock shows. I am a very modest and humble person. Spread good energy and good things will happen. Don’t give up! I have gotten a great response from the fan base.

X: Describe the shows.

MB: Bonkers!! Pure energy!! It feels right!
