Kicking things off we are greeted by the track, “I’m Grimm,” which gives us a chance to feel exactly where Grimm Gutter is coming from. Not only is the track a nice slow beat, but his flow matches this nicely and brings the track an overall gloomy feel. The places, like the hook, where the pace picks up fit well and the whole song feels nicely balanced. A nice solid way to kick off this album and showcase his particular style. 4/5

In contrast to the previous track this one opens up with a guitar riff, which continues to be laced along the bass heavy pulsing beat throughout the entire song. “Catharsis,” is a unique and interesting change so early in the album, but it works really well. The chorus adds some melodic vocals paired with guttural metal vocals that give the track a very cohesive feeling. Grimm Gutter and Big Rela both deliver solid verses that fit perfectly with this deeply metal inspired track. 3.5/5

Dropping back into the dark horrorcore style we saw on the first track is a bit jarring at first, but this quickly fades as the track opens up. “Lost, Forgotten,” has a heavy feeling that lingers, giving both Grimm Gutter and GlooM Rap a chance to offer some emotionally charged lyrics. Both are on point and tie the whole track together nicely. 4/5

“Junkie,” begins with a nice slow piano laden intro that quickly gives way to a more melodic beat. It’s clear that the subject matter hear is emotionally rough, but Grimm delivers each verse with precision. The soft chorus on this one sits well against the beat and offers a nice cap on either end of the verses found here. Cryptic Wisdom also comes strong with his verse and cuts up the track beautifully. Overall, this was an impressive track that truly shows the versatility of Grimm Gutter as an artist and is one of my favorites (if not my favorite) on the entire album.    4.5/5

The Scumbag Worldwide crew joins Gutter for the more fast pace “Daybreak.” Big Rela, Jimmy Knox and Tommy Gunz the Dark One all offer solid verses. While the beat is much more energetic then we’ve seen from the album so far, it’s nice to see that Grimm Gutter can deliver at any speed. While the track is well done, it seems out of place amongst the other tracks found on this release. Of course, with the whole crew on board it shouldn’t be surprised that the end result is a more hyped up feeling on the track. 3.5/5

Returning once again with a melodically heavy beat that stands as the perfect canvas for Grimm’s lyrics. “I, The Worst,” certainly feels like darker then the offering, but looking closer it seems as if this may be a track were we get to see a lot of elements found throughout the album truly come together. A light dosing of metal inspired backing vocals along the chorus are a nice touch and Grimm offers a more fast paced flow that is executed extremely well. F.E.T.U.S. slides in with a quick verse and showcases his talent, which pushes this track up another notch.  4.5/5

Closing out the album is the track, “The Last Rope You’ll Ever Tie,” which as you can probably guess, deals with some very deep subject matter. Once again we get a solid track that flows well with the lyrical style presented here, but the chorus seems a bit uneven. Either way, Grimm’s words express some deep emotions and give us a perfect vibe to end the album on. 3.5/4

Overall: Grimm Gutter delivers one of the most amazingly solid debut albums I’ve ever hear. It seems like most days the debut is a feeling out process with glimpses of what the artist is capable of in the future and if that’s the case here, everyone should be on the look out. A very impressive showing of talent that Grimm and the entire Scumbag Worldwide crew should be proud of. If you haven’t heard of Grimm Gutter before, I suggest you cop this album immediately and prepare yourself for what’s to come. 4.5/5
