The Wall Street Journal wrote a brief article that looks at the evolution of clowns in movies, and how they have gone from funny to downright scary.  The article was triggered by the new Poltergeist movie that’s about to come out.  If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, the creepiest part involves a toy clown.  You can see that trailer right here.

Anyways, in their coverage of scary clowns on the big screen, they talk about the Killer Klowns from Outer Space and make mention of ICP.  Here’s what is said.

2. In “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” (1988), aliens resembling human clowns land on Earth and start doing what killer klowns do. The movie won decent reviews and inspired merchandise such as creepy action figures. The rap group Insane Clown Posse has sampled dialogue from the film.
