Thornville businesses eagerly await the return of the Gathering!

With the recent announcement of the 2015 Gathering of the Juggalos, it was only a matter of time before we got some feedback from the town that’s hosting it.  After last year’s successful Gathering with very few incidents (and ZERO arrests), it looks like the town of Thornville, OH is welcoming us Juggalos and Juggalettes back with open arms!

In an article published yesterday from BuckeyeLakeBeacon.net, Legend Valley owner Steve Trickle claims that the residents have no problems with us returning, and hotels are eagerly awaiting the festival this year!  Check out the short, but positive article:

Juggalos to return to Legend Valley

By Scott Rawdon

THORNVILLE – Legend Valley Music Festival venue owner Steve Trickle announced the 15th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos returns to Legend Valley July 22 through 25.

“They were very nice” when the Juggalos gathered at Legend Valley last summer for the first time, despite having a rowdy reputation, Trickle said, adding that the local hotels have asked him if the Juggalos would return so they could welcome their business.

Last year, some local residents and law enforcement braced for impact when it was announced the Gathering of the Juggalos – a music festival anchored by the Insane Clown Posse – was to come to Legend Valley July 23 through 26. The Juggalos had a reputation for illicit drug use and violence after being asked to leave Cave- In-Rock, Illinois’ Hogrock campground following complaints by vendors who said they had either not been paid or had received bad checks in excess of a combined $300,000.

Originally, the event was headed last summer to Crybaby Campground in Kaiser, MO, but complaints from neighbors surrounding the venue prompted another change to Legend Valley.

Col. Chad Dennis of the Licking County Sheriff’s Office said the Juggalos previously gathered at the Frontier Ranch on York Road nearPataskala several years ago and there were no major issues.

Trickle, who lives adjacent to the grounds, said he’d attended a Juggalo event elsewhere and was ready for the event and confident of its success.

In the end, law enforcement officials said the event went far more smoothly than expected, and the Licking County Sheriff’s Department made no arrests during the four-day event. Roughly 4,500 people attended.

Some Legend Valley neighbors complained about the noise, but throngs of other neighbors jumped to Trickle’s defense, saying they had no problem with the Juggalos.

Maybe one day our reputation will start to be turned around. It seems the Juggalo following has shrunk a little bit, lets hope we are just shaking the bad fruit out of the tree. See yall in July, Whoop! Whoop!
