Daily Tribune / Detroit Free Press give details for ICP’s “Juggalo Day”

If you haven’t already heard, Juggalo Day is just over 3 weeks away, and it’s more than just a day this time!  There are festivities planned for the ENTIRE WEEKEND starting on Friday, February 20th and running through Sunday night, February 22nd!  Your homies at Faygoluvers will be there reppin’, and we hope to see a lot of you there too!

Detroit’s own Daily Tribune did a small write-up about Juggalo Day and focused on the fact that it’s free (with canned food donation), and also gave details about the Big Money Double Feature!  There’s nothing much that we don’t already know about, but you can check the article below.

ICP honoring Juggalos with free show at Masonic

You can’t buy tickets for Insane Clown Posse’s next metro Detroit area show.

That’s because they’re free.

The Farmington Hills-based rap duo has declared Feb. 21 to be Juggalo Day in honor of its devoted and enthusiastic fans — who have been smeared by an FBI designation as a gang, which is being contested in court. That night’s Take Me Home Free Show show takes place at Detroit’s Masonic Temple Auditorium, and it’s doubling as a food drive for Gleaners Food Bank; tickets can be acquired at the Masonic box office, the Crofoot Ballroom box office in Pontiac and Rock of Ages in Garden City in exchange for a non-perishable food item. There’s a limit of four tickets for person.

Tickets are also available online via www.TicketWeb.com, and those fans are expected to bring food items to the show. ICP will also present one of its JCW Live wrestling shows in addition to its performance.

On Feb. 20, meanwhile, ICP will be hosting an “opening ceremony” at the Masonic’s Jack White Theater, showing its two films, “Big Money Hustla$” and “Big Money Rustla$.” ICP and White collaborated on the 2011 single “Leck Mich Im Arsch.” Tickets are $5 and available also available via TicketWeb.

ICP to play free Masonic show in canned-food drive

Aiming to “give back to their hometown of Detroit,” Insane Clown Posse announced it will stage a free concert and canned-food drive Feb. 21 at the Masonic Temple Theatre.

Fans can get one ticket for each can of food donated (limit four per person), the group said this afternoon while announcing the free concert, a benefit for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

The show at the 4,400-capacity Masonic will be one of the biggest hometown dates in several years for ICP, which typically performs at venues such as St. Andrew’s Hall and the Fillmore Detroit.

Canned goods can be exchanged for tickets during daytime business hours at the Masonic (500 Temple, Detroit), the Crofoot (1 S. Saginaw, Pontiac) and Rock of Ages (31015 Ford Rd., Garden City). Tickets can also be ordered online at TicketWeb with a commitment to donate a can of food the night of show.

The duo’s performance will be preceded by an exhibition from the group’s Juggalo Championship Wrestling crew.

ICP’s Masonic weekend will kick off at the Jack White Theatre on Feb. 20 with a double-feature showing of the group’s two films, the 2001 gangster comedy “Big Money Hustlas” and 2010 Western spoof “Big Money Rustlas.” Admission is $5 and can be purchased in advance at TicketWeb.
