Tech N9ne reveals Jay Rock also no longer on Strange Music

Mr. Wavvy from YouTube caught up with Tech N9ne and got a short interview with him. He talks about both Kutt Calhoun and Jay Rock leaving Strange Music at what seems to be the same time. With Kutt it sounds like it was a gradual decision, with him first deciding not to perform on stage, that he didn’t really like the idea of the uniforms (scrubs) that Kali and Tech wear when they perform. Then just decided he wanted to come out from under Tech’s shadow and be his own man.

“Kutt’s always been different,” explains N9ne in an interview with Mr. Wavvy. “Me and Krizz Kaliko are weirdos and we’re proud of it… Kutty is a lot cooler, you know, a lot more hip — a lot more stylish. He didn’t really like the scrubs on stage, you know? And eventually he wanted to be off stage with us and do his own show… He wanted to be his own man and not in the shadow of Tech N9ne.”

Jay Rock on the other hand, was never supposed to stay on Strange Music. As Tech puts it, they did their job, got him off Warner Brothers as they were sitting on his album, released them in conjunction with TDE, and he is now off Strange Music and on TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) full time. I’m glad to hear after everything we saw on Instagram and Twitter that Tech and Kutt are on good terms. The few times I met Kutt Calhoun he was a humble guy and took time to actually sit and chat for a few minutes. You can watch the interview right hereor just hit that play button below.

i kinda knew like 2 years ago that jay rock wouldnt be on strange. he didnt fit. follow me home was killer though, still but it weekly.

Big scoob is “retired”, he had a kidney operation in 2012 and basically hung it up. he will do the occasionaly colleb or verse but you wont see anymore albums coming out of scoobs camp.
