To sum things up, KidCrusher’s vocal style can be best described as raunchy and menacing. His bizarre tone might come off as chaotic, but take a moment to ride his flow, and it will come to be appreciated. Whether he’s dishing out a rap flow or screaming his lungs out, it’ll fit in place. The only downside to his delivery is when he cleans up his voice slightly and attempts to sing. Although not awful, he has grasped other styles more comfortably. Due to the nature of this release being a mixtape, his topics and scenarios varies from song to song, along with the musical style itself. He writes about a variety of topics and although it’s mostly geared towards horrorcore in general, he does mix it up.

As I’ve mentioned, KidCrusher touches upon many different styles. People familiar with his music should see this as no surprise. The first noticeable trait is his favoritism towards rapcore/early post-hardcore/rap metal (or as some people say “nu metal”, which for the record is an inane term). The biggest giveaway is sampling the overly popular band Korn. “My Big Fat Dick” samples the guitar riff of the Korn and Fred Durst collaboration “All in The Family”. Although initially a sarcastic diss battle between the artists, KidCrusher completely turns it around and makes a quick track out of it. “Get the Fuck Up Outta My Face” makes a huge nod towards Limp Bizkit, and adds his own blend to the track. These are just prime examples of KidCrusher giving highlights to his influences.

Other songs are completely original and showcase his creative talent as a producer. With BubZombie at his side, the funky leads and drum track gives way to a brutal guitar riff and KidCrusher’s blend of chaotic rapping and screaming vocals in “Brain Taco”. It easily becomes a standout track. On the flip side, there are tracks that are mainly instrumentals and can be seen as filler. “The Never End of Me and My Enemy” only has various industrial-like noises and short spoken words (which the eerie words do fit the mixtape nicely), but it does seem to be a quick mashup for an interlude, and not really worthy of a repeat.

In regards to industrial, if you’re a fan of acts such as Gravity Kills, Nine Inch Nails, Fear Factory, Ministry, or other 90s industrial rock/metal bands, you’ll appreciate his dabs of influence in songs. With electronic leads, odd noises, and a prominent guitar, he matches the genre with ease. “Sex Toy (Industrial Kink Mix)” and “All About You” are prime examples. The latter is a cover of a Berzerker song, and features a fast riff and nonstop screams. It’s most likely the angriest song on the release, musically.

Another style that KidCrusher greets is dubstep. In this case though, people claim it as bloodstep or horrorcore dubstep. Regardless of what you attempt to classify a genre as, KidCrusher basically takes the typical electronic in-your-face leads and patterns, and adds various other mixups as well. Although he mixes his vocal delivery, for these types of songs, he sticks to his metal side and it is quite brutal. Mastering this style seems to come natural for KidCrusher, and to simplify things, sounds superb. “Director’s Cut (Alice in Zombieland)” is a prime example of this. The only downside to the track is the drawn out mock of a news report, as it takes away from the perfect musical vibe, albeit only briefly though.

“Stuck in Solitude” not only has the dubstep elements, but he also combines interesting piano lines and other eerie electronic elements. Not only does the music come off as blackened and dark, the lyrics itself takes on a whole new level. As mentioned, since this is a mixtape, he jumps from topic to topic. In this particular track he meshes confusion, regret, paranoia, and depression in general. It matches the music perfectly, and the song itself is not the for light-hearted listener whatsoever.

His lyrics are diverse for better or worse. “Fuck You Forever” is one of the near-closers, and is a song about love and gripping on, with an excessive necrophiliac tone. Although the idea of necrophilia has been reused many times, KidCrusher gives it a shot, and doesn’t exactly fail; however, he doesn’t break new ground either. “Outsider Artist (Grindhouse Remix)” is a straight-forward song about the typical assuming of the masses and unneeded censorship. KidCrusher tells it like it is, and isn’t afraid the least bit to express who he is as an artist.

“Human Salad” blends the brutal style of many of the previous terms, but showcases appearances by Scum, Bukshot, and Denace. The collaboration turned out to be a great idea, and is a staple of the mixtape. Other notable features on the release include T.O.N.E.-z, Jahred Gomes, and Q Strange. KidCrusher is no stranger to be associated with top notch acts, and the added performers only solidifies his presence in the scene.

From a newcomer standpoint, Metal Murder 3D turned out to be a very likeable mixtape; however, the chaotic atmosphere did make it weary at first. After realizing the mass amounts of influence and diverse styles upon multiple playthroughs, the mixtape is best described as two words: organized chaos.

Write a review for your favorite mur. Also. I think my favorite track is also your favorite. I feel like I’m reviewing you and not the album. Alas I have not listened to it fully. But ok.
