The Axe Murder Boyz are from Denver.   James and Mike Garcia are brothers of Mexican-American descent and Spanish descent. Axe Murder Boyz released a series of underground local releases on their own label, Axe Recordings, before creating Canonize Productions and releasing The Unforgiven Forest in 2004.

In 2005, AMB won the Underground Psychos contest that Psychopathic Records was holding. Following a brief tour with Insane Clown Posse, Axe Murder Boyz signed to Psychopathic Records in 2006, releasing Blood In, Blood Out. The album peaked at #11 on the Billboard Top Heat seekers chart, #22 on the Top Independent Albums chart, #199 on the Top Internet Albums chart and #199 on the Billboard 200.

In 2008, the duo released Gods Hand through Canonize and Psychopathic subsidiary Hatchet House. The album peaked at #11 on the Top Heat seekers chart and #36 on the Top Independent Albums chart.  In 2010, Bonez Dubb and Otis appeared in the Psychopathic film Big Money Rustlas and released the EP, Body In A Hole, before leaving Hatchet House. At the 2013 Gathering of the Juggalos, Violent J announced AMB’s return to Psychopathic records. In an interview with yadamedia.net, Otis said that The Garcia Brothers would be released before Christmas.  Its official release was on March 25, 2014 and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the duo.

Track by track review and rating

Intro- A long intro but nothing really to it.  N/A

Us Against The World- A nice simple but quick beat.  The verses are as fast as the beat and show the verbal mic skills of both rappers here.  The hook is simple and slower but here it really works.  4/5

M.O.E.- The beat in this track is complex but very catchy.  The verses are horror core at its finest.  The hook is easy to catch on to and jam with.  The overall sound and mix here is very well done.  4.5/5

I get Even- A much slower beat drives the verses here.  The verses are spit quickly against the slower beat and make this track shine.  The hook drones on here and that lets the track down.  A nice change of pace in comparison to the rest of the album up to this point.  3.5/5

Smoke Kush- This track has a definite smoker’s beat.  The overall vibe is chill and matches the weed smoking lyrics.  The hook has a ton of effect on the sound which detracts from the lyrics.  For what it is this track could be better.  3/5

Might Go Mad ft Insane Clown Posse- A dope hard hitting beat leads this track.  ICP adds two of the best verses they have recorded in a while.  They bring that wicked shit people have been demanding.  The hook is good and rounds the track out nicely.  4.5/5

Roaches- A smooth melodic beat in this track.  The verses flow with the beat which is a shift in this album.  AMB continue to show their increased lyrical and flow abilities.  The hook is almost too simple against the rest of the track.  3.5/5

Shine- The beat is way too complex in this track and it takes away from the impact of the verses.  A lot of the sound effect they added in this track could have been left out and improved the overall listen ability.  The verses and hook are good but get lost in the beat.  3/5

Bleed ft Anybody Killa- A much darker sound to this beat.  The hook is hella catchy and will have the listener’s attention immediately.  ABK adds a nice verse to the end of the track which is a nice finish here.  4.5/5

No Trust- The bass in this beat is thumping.  A dope beat to drive to for sure.  Lyrically it is all about no trust in relationships.  Most listeners have been where AMB was when they wrote this one.  The hook is sung in this one and that is the track’s biggest downfall.  4/5

I Keeps It Movin’- The intro to this track is lacking but gives way to a solid beat.  The verses are quick as hell but not so you can’t hear what is being said.  The hook doesn’t stand out but works here.  3.5/5

Listen ft Big Hoodoo- This beat is slow, dark, and very different from anything else on this album.  They added a nice little guitar in the beat which works.  The hook is well written and has the desired impact.  Hoodoo adds a good verse that finishes off the track.  3.5/5

Runaway- A very stripped down and simple beat here.  The mix is really nice here.  The track is very low key and the verses are wicked in context.  The hook is equally as simple but it works into the feel of the track.  4/5

Nobody Get Hurt- A reggae track on an AMB album?  Yes it is.  The beat in the track allows for that laid back vibe.  While the lyrics are wicked they blend in with this mellower vibe.  The hook is easy to jam with.  4/5

Conclusion:  After a disappointing 2013 for Psychopathic, this release gives Juggalos everywhere hope that things are on the upswing.  AMB shows throughout the album that they have taken huge strides to improve both their lyrics and their delivery.  Fans of their previous release “God’s Hand” will definitely find things to enjoy on this release.  If anyone on the label is going to fill a large part of the hole left by Twiztid leaving, AMB is on the path to do so.

Id say this deserves 4 stars seeing how AMB wrote, produced and Mixed the whole album themselves…Took a star away for not having more tracks on the mufucka.Great Album
