Insane Clown Posse to GQ: “Screw You.”

As most of the you know a few weeks ago we posted an article about ICP being named the worst rappers by GQ. The media has finally picked up on this and everyone is now giving Rob Tannenbaum the author of this worst rappers list major shit.

This has lead to Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope responding via tmz. Also Tmz has a poll up asking if ICP are indeed the worst rappers?, so head over there and vote NO. You can view the first article we posted about this story by  clicking here. Below is some of the responses about this article including a tweet from  Rob Tannenbaum.

ICP response via TMZ:

Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope aren’t taking kindly to the insult.

Violent J tells us, “Insane Clown Posse has been selling rap records, rocking rap stages and making rap money for over 20 years now. You can’t rack up all that rap success for this long and still be ‘the worst ever.’ GQ magazine should stick to what they know: Dressing preppy metrosexuals.”

Shaggy took it one step further … adding, “Tell GQ to say it to my face!”

From Huffington Post:

Rapping isn’t easy, and when it’s not done well it’s just downright cringeworthy.

There are plenty of terrible example that come to mind, but GQ writer Rob Tannenbaum has assembled his own list of “The 25 Worst Rappers of All Time.” Taking the top (dis)honor is none other than the Insane Clown Posse.

The list also predictably includes former MTV “The Hills” star Spencer Pratt, Tom Hanks’ son Chet Haze, Vanilla Ice, Kevin Federline and Madonna. But Tannenbaum’s inclusion of the Too $hort and Eazy-E has sparked some ire.

“Not only does this exercise in abject trolling misunderstand how hip-hop works — wow, Ice Cube wrote Eazy’s raps for him/ Next you’ll be telling me Dr. Dre doesn’t write every rhyme either! — but it lazily beats up on artists who don’t even get much respect in the first place,” complained Complex writer David Drake, who deemed GQ’s list a “disaster.”

Whether you agree with the list or not, Tannenbaum seems prepared for all the flack that’s inevitably going to come his way, as he tweeted:

Thanks to GQ for letting me pick the 25 Worst Rappers of All Time & to ppl on Twitter 4 letting me know I’m an idiot. http://t.co/NQdzuMD1l6

Oh wait, this is the White Courtesy Telephone guy? What a looser, guy has made a career out of getting attention for dissing ICP. His band went nowhere and this is him just lashing out. Put a binky in his mouth and he will shut up for a bit. Listen to him get punked by Shaggy on Stern if you haven’t heard it, it is truly awesome.

This is hilarious, how the fuck can GQ be sayin that they know who the worst rappers are? Honestly it’s just a list of rappers that the guy dont like, that’s all it is. I mean Vanilla Ice? For real, they dude has been around since the late ’80s rockin it, puttin out albums, and rockin the stage. And ICP? They wuldnt have sold 5 million+ albums in 21 years, hold a annual 4 day concert every year, also they wuldnt have 3 of thier albums reach the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 (2 of the albums are thier last 2 – BPB & TMDP). Finally ICP wuldnt be gettin the attention, and they hype behind thier albums, if they werent doing somethin right to get attention that isnt bad. And just because ICP gets attention from the mainstream people seem to think they are sellin out, I find it hard to believe that when you do whut you do for so long, you release an album and the mainstream likes it, pays attention to it, writes about it, and may even promote you, and your next album, doesnt mean that you are selling out, your doing somethin that you like that happened to get noticed by the mainstream, and I’m happy after seein ICP get shit talked on them for so many years to see them actually get mainstream attention, cuz they didnt go out and say “Hey mainstream, we are puttin out another huge album, and a bunch of other shit, come pay attention to us”, no they jus did whut they did, the mainstream seen that BPB reached #4 on the 200, and thought that TMDP would be a huge follow up. ICP has been around for 20+ years now, and they will be around for another 20+ years with thier hatchets high, and middle fingers towards the haters, and mainstream.
