Track by track review and rating

1. Intro: Spoken intro over a well put together beat, dedicating the album to his late father. N/A
2. That’s Wassup: A slow beat gives way to a verbal assault on this track. LA shows his style well in this track. The hook is catchy. A good track to start the album. 7/10
3. I’m Right Here (Feat. Bridge B): Another well done beat. The verses are done well and the hook is easy to get itno. 8/10
4. This My Time (Feat. Bridge B): The beat is so similar to the first two tracks and that takes away from the overall track. The verses are good but the hook seems out of place. 6/10
5. Beastmode (Feat. Hopsin): This beat is a nice change of pace. It is complex and compliments the verses very well. Hopsin adds a lot with his verse. The hook is addictive. This is easily one of the best tracks on the album. 10/10
6. Jump Off (Feat. Stevie Stone & Kamikazi): The beat allows the listener to get their head bobbing to the track. The verses are on point and the featured artists are able to shine in the track. 9/10
7. Hands On (MMA): A hard hitting beat changes the pace again. A track dedicated to fighting with great lyrics. The hook is good and is easy to get into. 8/10
8. I Know: A very slow beat is in direct contrast to the previous track. The verses are delivered at a slow deliberate pace which is complimented by a well sung hook. 7/10
9. Motivation (Feat. Black Pegasus): The beat is very generic. The hook uses auto tune and it is also very generic. The verses are lackluster but delivered well. The track seems to exploit a lot of mainstream tactics. 6/10
10. What If (Feat. Marka): This track is a look at the what if’s. It has a nice beat and the harmony on the hook is really enjoyable. Definitely a step up from the last track. 8/10
11. Immortalized: A simple beat on this one. Great verses are brought down a bit with the hook. 7/10
12. Time Spent: The beat is not as smooth as others on this album. This changes the cadence of the verses and adds a lot of enjoyment. The hook flows with the beat well and works. 8/10
13. Far Away: This track is an emotional tribute to his father. This emotion allows the listener to fall into the love he shows his father. A really good track. 9/10
14. Live My Life Away: This track changes the flow again. It brings in more R & B which is a very nice addition to the album. The hook is nicely done and the verses flow very well. 8/10
15. Smile Now (Feat. Bridge B): A nice old school sound to round out the album. Good flow in the verses and a solid hook make this a nice conclusion to the album. 7/10

Overall Album Rating: 7.5/10

Conclusion

With the intent behind the album being a tribute to his father Liquid Assassin steps out of his comfort zone throughout the album. Some of these steps work really well and show a deeper side of him as an artist. Some don’t work so well but that is to be expected when that comfort zone is expanded. This album is a tribute his father would be proud of. Fans of LA should understand the point of the album and give it a spin. Overall a very enjoyable album.
