Majik Records

Majik Records was a short lived subsidiary of Psychopathic Records. Established in 2003, the company was founded by a partnership of Madrox, Monoxide and former psychopathic records warrior, Tom Dub. Each member held 33.3 % of the company and as friends they had no reason to doubt each other.

The label was very controversial, it had long been rumored that Twiztid was going to leave Psychopathic Records, and either sign with another label or begin there own label. Twiztid had been doing there own thing independant from the rest of Psychopathic Records for quite a while, Tom Dub was there tour manager and they did most of there own production alongside production partner Fritz the cat, collectively known as Systerosis Sound Squad.

All this created a tension between Psychopathic Records and Twiztid. It looked as though Twiztid was done with Psychopathic. However, as we all know things unfolded and the relationship between Psychopathic Records and Twiztid became tight again.

Majik Records was established for Twiztid to begin signing new talent and to release the album The Green Book. Also it was going to be home to a new group [or project] entitled, The Samhein Witch Killaz. The Samhein Witch Killaz would seemingly be a resurrection of Twiztids earlier group, The House of Krazees. It had been rumored that underground Horrorcore favorite Q-strange would be signing to Majik Records. Majik Records would ultimately never release anything but a website.

Throughout the short-lived existence of the Majik Records website, news would be posted periodically; updating the status and upcoming events of Majik Records, here are some of the posts:

Hello, and welcome to the brand new MajikRecordz.com official website. For those of you who may not know about Majik Recordz, let me take a moment to tell you a little bit about us. We are an independent Detroit based record label dedicated to bring underground music to the ever growing masses who prefer something else besides what the main stream music industry has to offer now a days.

Established in 2003, Majik Recordz plans to release a vast catalog for the future starting with the debut release of "Samhein Witch Killaz" Scheduled for an October 31, 03 release date. (For more info on SWK check out the bio section) In the mean time, have a look at our web store to get your hands on some of the brand new, and exclusive products that we have to offer - available today.

Ultimately nothing was ever released on Majik Records and due to a split between Twiztid and Tom Dub, Tom Dub left the company. The rumors went flying as to why Tom Dub was asked to leave the company, one of which being that he spent months turning Twiztid and Psychopathic against each other in order to get Twiztid to jump ship.) When he left the company he refused to sell his share of the company to Twiztid.

That was the end of Majik Records.

Ax & Smash Records

Ax & Smash Records was a rock subsidiary of Psychopathic Records opened in 2004. It was opened to help Psychopathic Records organize there already signed artist and to open up the door for other upcoming rock artist. Though the record label seemed to be well thought out and planned, only one album was ever released on Ax & Smash Records, and that was Zug Izland: 3:33. Shortly after the establishment of Ax & Smash Records, they closed all together and Psychopathic Records would soon follow with released signed artist Zug Izland.

Here is what was listed at the official website of Ax & Smash Records:

Detroit Rock City, the home to many of the greatest rock bands over the last half century, presents a new rock label for the 21st Century, Ax & Smash Records!

The launch of Ax & Smash (AXS) Records brings the music world a label designed strictly for the release of commercial rock and alternative rock albums. As a label created by fans of rock music many years ago, who are used to standing in the middle of a sweaty mosh pit to see our favorite bands, we have grown throughout the years and possess the marketing, distribution and promotional credentials that rivals all major labels.

Ax & Smash is dedicated to the fans, bringing them the best of live and recorded music from the US and worldwide, and have all the right tools to do it.

Ax & Smash Records is distributed by RED Distribution in the United States and Canada, and Proper Distribution in the UK. The first release from Ax & Smash Records will be the sophomore album from Zug Izland, 3:33, in stores June 1, 2004. The band’s first single "Saved" is currently impacting alternative radio nationwide.

Look out for more unique and amazing rock acts coming from Ax & Smash Records in the near future.

There was never anything else posted on the website, to check it out for yourself Ax & Smash Records

Urban Music Zone Entertainment

Urban Music Zone Entertainment was a subsidiary of Psychopathic Records opened in 2004 to help expand Psychopathic Records into a more mainstream rap sound. The Label was founded by partners Alex Abyss and Psychopathic Records Don Rude Boy. The label was highly hyped and was actually one of two labels to be introduced in that time period; the other was Ax and Smash Records. Urban Music Zone Entertainment only released one album and it was by the only signed artist, MC BREED that album was entitled The New Prescription.

With the release of the album the end was soon to come and Urban Music Zone Entertainment closed down all together in the summer of 2004 after a failed attempt at a national tour featuring Ol' Dirty Bastard, Esham, and Mc Breed.
